Save the Date: Dec 1 EdWeek and GSEHD Host Post-Election Event

your-invited“What’s Ahead for Pre-K – 12: Beyond the 2016 Elections” will take place on Thursday, December 1, from 1-5 pm in the Jack Morton Auditorium in the MPA building. Trachtenberg School students are invited to attend this free event, but registration is required.

Policymakers, analysts, and Education Week journalists examine how the elections will affect public education policy from the White House and Congress down to the state and local levels, even as educators scramble to get ready for the Every Student Succeeds Act to take full effect.

Presented by Education Week in partnership with the GW Graduate School of Education and Human Development, this event will feature incisive analysis and one-on-one discussions with policymakers and high-profile speakers on the path forward for K-12 policy in the wake of the 2016 elections. Join us for:

  • A wide-ranging national take on the elections from a wealth of demographic and public-policy angles.
  • Detailed breakdown of the education-specific results and implications, from Education Week’s political-reporting staff.
  • A discussion with political insiders on what they make of the election’s aftermath.
  • The view from officials in a position to set the course of K-12 policy on their priorities and outlook.
  • Insights from a nationally known observer of political trends and culture, followed by a sit-down interview by a member of Education Week’s national reporting team.
